#1200_Masks_Distributed
Through the most appreciated generous support from the US Embassy Nairobi, SambaSports Youth Agenda was able to distribute a total of 1200 face masks to pupils of Mbweka and Yeje primary schools.
Three weeks back, while in our usual school visits to inspire pupils to emulate healthier behaviour, we realised the school children hardly had any face masks, going by our quick observation.
This disturbed us and we reached out to our friends and partners from the American Embassy, for help. The partners empathised with the reported situation and swiftly organized and sent us a consignment of masks to intervene.
Today, Mbweka Primary school received 550 face masks, while Yeje Primary school received 650 masks.
During the distribution, we were accompanied by the area Assistant Chief, Mr. Hamisi Mwamvyoga, members of the schools Boards of Management, and a reporter from RADIO KAYA.
The pupils and their teachers alike, especially their head teachers, were delighted by this gesture, and expressed their gratitude to both SambaSports and the US Embassy.
Apart from the masks distributed, SambaSports will be engaging the two schools, plus Kombani, Boss and Waa Primary schools in ICT trainings, as well as an initiative to strengthen their language skills that will include debate competions, essay writing competions, skits competions and mentorship visits.
We wish to thank our diverse partners for walking with us in various initiatives we innovate to transform the fortunes of young people. Please walk with us some more.
