Excitement filled the air as we welcomed a team of seven guests from Japan to our office today. This visit was made possible through the RafikiNetwork, an organization dedicated to preventing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and teenage pregnancies. Thanks to the efforts of Michael Boyce, who linked us with the Hamamatsu University School of Medicine Hospital, we had the opportunity to share our model SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) approach and learn from the expertise of two medical doctors and three medical students.
Over the course of two months of planning, we collaborated with our guests from Japan to conduct SRH education sessions for the community. The medical team also held clinics for children, adults, and elders, providing much-needed care to those who may not have had access to it otherwise. We were grateful to Dr. Hiro from Hamamatsu Hospital who generously donated five footballs, bringing joy and play to the children who benefitted from the medical clinic.
This meaningful connection was made possible through our valued partnership with Amani Kibera, whose Executive Director was present during the visit. Together, we are working to strengthen partnerships and improve the health and wellbeing of our community. We are grateful for the support of our friends in Japan, who have demonstrated their commitment to our cause through their love and care. With continued collaboration and partnership, we can create a world where everyone has access to quality healthcare and education.
