Adolescence as most people prefer to say is a delicate stage of growth and the most challenging in the life of mankind, has a lot of puzzle. At this stage, one is trying to create a sense of self identity with those unsuccessful in the quest falling into identity crisis which more often is left unattended—leading to serious issues in adulthood. Moreover, adolescents begin to realize their talents and draw meaning out of several aspects in surrounding their your lives. With little or rather no proper guidance, huge potential is lost and the future killed at a younger age.
SambaSports Youth Agenda believes in coloring the world of young people and the adolescents here serve no exception. Through the Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Induction (ASRHI) program, adolescents have had the opportunity to learn about and understand the dangers of teenage pregnancy and dug abuse. ASRHI uses the platform to help keep the vulnerable adolescent boys and girls off drug and substance abuse.
Kwale has been hugely affected by drugs and substance abuse with hope and dreams shuttered to never be recognized. Some of the smartest and most talented young men and women lost it all to drug abuse. As this poses a great danger, it has been of paramount importance for SambaSports to ensure no more dreams and hope are buried prematurely. The adolescents have shown undoubted zeal and will to uphold their dignity by not indulging in the menace. They have chosen to resist, drug have no chance in their lives—today, tomorrow and forever.
Furthermore, it is a top priority for SambaSports to ensure gender equality is achieved in Kwale. The only way to make that dream valid is by guarantying girls have access to quality education. That can be accomplished if these girls are retained in school. Over the previous years, countless number of adolescents girls have been deprived on their right to education due to teenage pregnancy.
ASHRI has helped these girls to understand the power of education through series of mentorship sessions featuring distinguished female guest speakers. The adolescent girls are more than empowered, moreover, the adolescent boy alike vow to make that happen by being supportive brothers.
Euphoria was high, lightening and brightening joy all over the faces of the adolescents as they participated in a Skits Exposition at Little Theater Club in Mombasa. The adolescent had the platform to showcase their prowess and brilliance in the areas they are talent featuring items under the them “Teenage Pregnancy and Drug Abuse.” The height of the exposition was prize giving for the brilliant teams and individuals. It was a celebration worth of memories for the adolescents as most of them had their debut on big stage before the overjoyed audience.
