Partnerships have undoubtedly helped SambaSports Youth Agenda grow over the years since its inception in 2018. The Japanese government through National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) and United Nation Development Program (UNDP) had supported the organization with tents and chairs for its activities. This left a formidable partnership between NDMA and SambaSports Youth Agenda.
Sustainability is key for the development of any organization, SambaSports seized the opportunity by hiring the tent and chairs. The profit made enabled the organization to start table banking that helped members with small loans. The office of Women Representative in Kwale through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund, awarded the organization with a grant that helped its enhancing of the table banking initiative. Members have been saving and getting loans through this initiative.
Following this fruitful and rather beneficial partnership, delegation of International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) led by the National Director visited in March earlier this year. The visit was such a blessing as few promises were made by the team. They had promised to support the ICT Department, Tailoring, and Library.
Wednesday of July 21, 2021 was one of the many brighter days for SambaSports hosting staff from NDMA and IPSTC including the Chief of Staff of the latter. The team donated 5 computers to the organization that will bolster the ICT Department. SambaSports wishes to appreciate IPSTC the NDMA, Kwale County, for their continued support to our Organization.
The visitors mentioned to be highly impressed by the work, determination, ambition and strong values. As a result, they promised to help the organization solve some of the challenges as mentioned by donating computers and sewing machines. The Director of IPSTC committed to keep in-touch and link the organization to opportunities.
