In patnership with Pwani Teknowgalz, this afternoon SambaSports Youth Agenda trained 40 students in Kombani Primary School, Kwale County, on #CS_First_Unplugged activities, targeting standard 4 to standard 7 pupils.
The training was facilitated by alumni of Pwani Teknowgalz, Abdulhamid Chaucer, and Omar Khamis, who are now part of SambaSports ICT Department.
The kids were trained on three sessions;
1. Connecting a Neighborhood – a session that sensitized the pupils on how map applications work, and how to interconnect entities in a neighborhood.
2. Encoding an Emoji – this session trained the students on how computers see images.
3. Encrypting a message – a session that looks into how passwords and secret messages can be made. This enables the pupils to understand how important it is for some information to be left secure and out of the control of hackers.
The school is looked forward to their next training on Monday 1st February 2021 and we targeted another group of 40 pupils, while another training on Tuesday 2nd February targeted additional 20 pupils. This still being the Phase I program, we are targeting 5 more primary schools to train 500 additional students.
