SambaSports partners, #The_US_Embassy, Launches Access Program in Kwale County
We had such a wonderful time today as our partners U.S. Embassy Nairobi officially launched the English Access Microscholarship Program in Ng’ombeni.
Beneath the Access Program is the positive transformation of the 42 students that were evidently exhibited during the virtual launching of the program at Ng’ombeni Secondary school hall, since its inception in October 2020.
Students from the two schools; Kombani and Ng’ombeni secondary schools undertaking the two-year program portrayed a positive outlook and attitude in their strife to learning the English language at the memorable event that was honored by Mr. Chris Machin, a representative from the #US_Embassy.
Mr. Chris outlined the importance of the English language, reiterating that it is important for communication, mental discipline, self-expression, problem-solving, as a way of seeking employment, as well as for social interaction.
In such an amazing fashion, the Kombani students recited a very beautiful poem, full of praise to SambaSports Youth Agenda and the US Embassy for bringing them such a transformative project, while the Ng’ombeni students led a magical song, with the soloist being one of the beneficiary students. The song caught everyone, unanimously singing the chorus bit….”you my brother, you my sister, we are on big family”🎤🎶🎵🎼🎺🎷.
This was after a student followed by another, and yet another, stood to appreciate the US Embassy for transfoming their academic experiences.
Present during this auspicious online event was the Matuga Sub-County Director of Education Kwale, Mr.Kilei, Principals for Kombani and Ng’ombeni secondary schools, teachers and Sambasports members.
As an icing of the cake, the students were awarded beautiful certificates from the US Embassy, bearing the departmentment of state emblem. ….such a pride in the Students’ lives!!
Finally, the launch was climaxed by cutting a cake, which the excited students delved to high pitched of celebration.
This noble program is funded by the U.S department of state through the U.S embassy.
