Visit by Youth Innovators: From University Of Middlebury, UK

May 16, 2019
The SambaSports team this morning received a delegation of Students and staff from the University of Middlebury, UK, who came to pay a courtesy call with a view to understanding our unique approaches in engaging adolescent boys and girls in preventing drug abuse, juvenile crime, teenage pregnancies and other social ills.
The team was accompanied by staff from our mentor partners, the Aga Khan Foundation and the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa.
This visit was part of a two-weeks’ Youth Innovation Boot Camp, which is hosted at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa, and facilitated by Global team leaders in Civil Society work and Youth innovations, including AKDN’s Global Civil Society advisor, Matt Reeves. SambaSports was lucky to get a slot for one member as part of the participants for this great capacity building on youth and unique innovations.
We look forward to engaging more with the University of Middlebury on matters of youth empowerment and focusing on innovating safety nets for young people.
Thank you AKDN, AKFEA, AKAM and the amazing SambaSports team for making this happen successfully.
